Dublin Dominates in 60-14 Victory
Perry, Ga. — Dublin High School delivered a commanding performance Friday night, defeating A.C.E Academy 60-14 in a region football game that showcased the Fighting Irish's offensive firepower and defensive dominance.
The victory improves Dublin's region record to 2-0, maintaining their first-place position in Georgia High School Association Class 2A Region 2. Head coach Roger Holmes' squad, currently ranked No. 3 in the state's Class 2A rankings, has exceeded preseason expectations after entering the 2026 campaign ranked sixth in June polls.
Offensive Firepower Overwhelms Opponents
Dublin's offensive attack proved overwhelming for the Macon-based A.C.E Academy, a private school that competes in the Georgia Independent School Association. The Fighting Irish built an insurmountable lead through a balanced offensive approach that has characterized their season.
The program's success this fall builds on strong returning talent, including the top three running backs from last season's 9-3 campaign. That experienced backfield has been instrumental in Dublin's early-season surge up the state rankings.
A.C.E Academy Struggles to Compete
A.C.E Academy, part of the GISA network of nearly 160 private, independent, and parochial schools across Georgia, struggled to contain Dublin's attack throughout the contest. The private school association provides athletic and academic competition for institutions outside the traditional GHSA structure.
The game took place in Perry, a Houston County community in Middle Georgia that serves as home to the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter. The 46-point margin of victory represents Dublin's most decisive win of the young season.
Rising Through the Rankings
For Dublin, the performance reinforces their status as a legitimate contender in Class 2A competition. The Fighting Irish have climbed the rankings steadily since preseason, moving from their initial No. 6 position to their current No. 3 state ranking through consistent performances.
The win also demonstrates the depth of Dublin City Schools' football program under Holmes' leadership, as the team continues to execute at a high level across multiple phases of the game.
Dublin will look to build on this momentum as they continue region play, while A.C.E Academy returns to GISA competition seeking to regroup from the lopsided defeat.
