Labels. Sponsored articles, branded content and paid partnerships are labeled at the top of the piece as "Sponsored", "Advertisement" or "Partner Content". Paid material is produced separately from editorial coverage and is visually distinct from it.
Display without tracking. Display advertising on the site is served without tracking cookies and without visitor profiling. Advertisers receive aggregate reporting, not individual reader data.
Independence. Advertisers do not influence story selection, framing or timing. Buying advertising buys placement. It buys nothing else.
What we refuse. The site does not accept advertising that is unlawful, deceptive or discriminatory, nor advertising that the editors judge would damage the credibility of the news report. Any advertisement may be declined or removed at the publisher's discretion.
